New Features

Custom Figure Data

Using the new Custom Key inspector panel you can create custom data keys in your project, such as Student Name, Grade, and Effort. The value data format can be specified as text, or a formatted numeric with support for percentages, ordinals, localized currency symbol, decimal symbol, and thousands separator.

Values for these custom data keys can then be set for any figure within your project. After a value is entered, Curio will format it based on the settings associated with that custom data key. In hierarchical collections such as lists and mind maps, numeric custom values will automatically sum up to parent node figures.

The Search shelf supports searching via operators of custom data values (e.g. Price > 50), and search results text and CSV exports include custom data. Exporting and importing of figures support meta attributes, such as Exam @FirstName="Charlie Brown" @Grade="89".

Markdown Images

Curio's text figures now support the markdown image syntax such as:

This is a great icon: ![Curiota icon](https://www.zengobi.com/images/curiota32x32.png)

Which will render as an image when you finish editing the figure:

Markdown Highlight

Curio's text figures now support the markdown highlight syntax such as:

This is a ==very important note== and ^^so is this^^!

Which will render as this when you finish editing the figure:

This is a very important note and so is this!

Markdown Emoji

You can now enter over 800 markdown emoji cheat codes, such as :laughing: and :heart_eyes_cat: and many of the others published at the Emoji Cheat Sheet into Curio's text figures and they'll be converted into the appropriate emoji character, like 😆 and 😻, when you finish editing.

Present In Window

You can now begin a presentation within a separate, resizable window which is useful if sharing a window with others via Zoom or other conferencing software.

Presentation Touch Bar Controls

Presentation mode now supports Touch Bar controls which comes in handy not only for laptops with a Touch Bar, but they also appear on your Sidecar-connected iPad allowing you to easily navigate through your slides.

Appearance Themes

In addition to the simple dark and light mode toggle, Curio Standard and Professional include support for appearance themes, allowing you to change the look of the Curio user interface even further.

Curio Standard comes bundled with several included themes such as a palette of blues, bright shades of yellow, or dark shades of black for midnight workaholics.

Curio Professional kicks it up a notch, allowing you to create your own custom themes by combining display properties such as dark mode; window, Organizer, inspector bar, and shelf background coloring; Organizer text coloring; and even idea space background coloring instead of the default white background!
