Fit to Printed Page

A new item in Preferences, which is on by default, will scale each idea space to the printed page (automatically rotating if necessary to make a good fit). This setting is also used when using File > Share > Mail PDF. This can also be set on-the-fly with a new Print panel accessory.

Set Default Styles

You can now set the default style (font, border, color, etc) for text, music, movie, image, URL, and generic document asset figures via a new context menu item! (1) Select an asset, (2) control-click (or right click) and choose Asset > Set Default Style for Figure. You can now finally change that darn Helvetica 16pt for the default text figure!

Other Features

• Idea Space: shadows now print!
• Idea Space: a new item in Preferences, which is off by default, will print the background color and/or texture. This setting is also used when using File > Share > Mail PDF. This can also be set on-the-fly with a new Print panel accessory.
• Idea Space: new button on the idea space Layout inspector lets you save the specified dimensions as the new default for all new idea spaces.
• Idea Space: you can now hit the Escape key to end text editing.
• Idea Space: new Edit > Duplicate to duplicate figures.
• Idea Space: new Edit > Deselect All to make sure nothing is selected.
• Idea Space: new Help > View Release Notes to show the release notes.
• Idea Space: new Command key shortcuts for Show/Hide Dossier and Show/Hide Organizer.
• Idea Space: new huge memory saver - if you switch to a different idea space now we not only hibernate (aka compress in memory) any edited idea spaces after a few seconds, we also close and release all memory used by any non-edited idea spaces after a few seconds.
• Dossier: new Essay dossier template for creative writing projects.
• Dossier: you can now change to a different dossier template after initially picking one.
• Organizer: new menu items to go to previous and next idea space with Command-Up Arrow and Command-Down Arrow equivalents.
• General: window positions are now saved on a per-document basis.
• General: new Check Now button on the General Preference panel, a new Curio > Check for Updates menu item, and Curio > Buy Curio menu item for trial users.

Notable Fixes

• Idea Space: made Command-= be the same as Command-+ so it's easier to zoom in and out with the main keyboard without having to hold Shift down to make a plus sign.
• Idea Space: fixed rare problem that would result in icons not being displayed correctly for assets in the idea space.
• Idea Space: editing an asset's title, or the contents of a text field, no longer swamps the CPU.
• Idea Space: you can now move figures off the right and bottom edges of the idea space.
• Idea Space: Select All will now find the tightest rectangle that fits around any scribbles.
• Idea Space: extending the selection for scribbles and figures has been cleaned up a bit.
• Idea Space: you no longer have to hit undo twice to get rid of a Option-dragged item.
• Idea Space: fixed crash that could happen if you quickly delete idea spaces as the view is trying to render them.
• Idea Space: hitting 'b' to switch back to a brush wasn't selecting the last selected stylus.
• Idea Space: made it so typing automatically wraps at the edge of the idea space.
• Idea Space: when using the zoom control the centered item is kept in the center.
• Assets: fixed very subtle problem with foreign characters in the embedded asset path which would result in an asset disappearing from the project.
• Assets: dragging URLs with path characters in the title (aka colons and slashes) will now be embedded correctly.
• Dossier: the mouse wheel now works correctly over the Dossier view.
• Organizer: the mouse wheel now works correctly over the Organizer view.
• Organizer: expand all now expands the children of items that are already expanded.
• Organizer: added check to make sure we're not trying to delete all of the idea spaces within a project.
• Organizer: the appropriate idea space is selected after you delete some idea spaces.
• Library: fixed the bug where if you sorted the library table by the aliased column, it would sometimes throw an exception.
• Inspector: fixed a tooltip on the idea space's Layout tab which was reversed for pages vs. pixels.
• General: better error reporting and handling if an error occurs when saving (particularly to read-only files).
• General: got rid of weird beeping if you close the license dialog via the close box.
