Hello - and thank you for a product that has changed the way I work!
I use Curio to write out translations with notes (using a Wacom Bamboo & the highlighters and various drawing tools). And the new PDF spread is AMAZING. Will change the way I study.
What I have created is a template with lines - I write on the lines and want to end up with an A4 page of writing. At the moment I have worked out how long the page needs to be in order to print to one A4 page and to force it to do this I have a white highlight line running down the right hand side as long as I need it so that I end up with just the write size and scale.
Is there an easier way to do this? If I don't scale then it spreads over two pages wide. If I do scale I have to have the length just right or it shrinks it down.
I have looked at the manual to try and work out if there is any trick to creating a work space that will print the way you want it but haven't found what I am looking for.
Again, many thanks - I am constantly finding new uses for Curio.

I'm very happy you're enjoying Curio!
Click on the background of an idea space then click on the Display tab within the Inspector shelf. In the Dimensions panel, choose "Manually" for the "Auto-adjust vertically" and "Auto-adjust horizontally" settings and Curio will no longer auto-grow the idea space's size once you get it exactly right.
Then drag that idea space over into the Idea Space Template shelf and you'll have a perfect one-page template to use again and again. |

OK - thanks. That works out. But I would still like to understand a little better the Display Dimenstions dialogue - trial and error is time consuming. What are Pages and Screens?
If I set it to to add space vertically, but not horizontally, will I get a long document? And will that document then print over a number of pages going down?
Also, there is a margin when I print. Is that adjustable.
Thanks heaps for answering these questions. I couldn't find the answer in the Help Manual, which I am using extensively.

Pages are printed pages. Thus it will grow by an amount necessary to add another printed page. A screen is your screen's resolution. So it will grow by an amount necessary to add another screen.
Some people are more focussed on neatly filling a printed page, others by screens. The other alternative is by pixels which means it will grow only by the minimum necessary number of pixels to enclose all the objects.
And, yes, you can adjust the print margins via File > Project Properties. |
