In the same way that parametric constraints can be set up in CAD applications so that objects maintain a certain spatial relationship between them, it would be great to implement this between figures in an idea space.

When I have several mind maps or outlines etc. and I'm editing them such that they change their size significantly, they end up overlapping others on the idea space or leaving big gaps.

As a result, I end up repeatedly rearranging these elements to maintain an efficient and legible appearance.

I would think that something like choosing two figures and then a context menu item to keep them a fixed vertical / horizontal distance between their boundaries no matter how they change would be fantastic.
