I'm assuming you can't type in Curio without doing so in a textbox. I tried to follow the instructions in the Manual but after I sized a big square box, it'd only let me type in the center of it. It wouldn't let me go to the top left-hand side. What am I doing wrong?

Look at the Text Inspector and use the horizontal and vertical alignment buttons to make the text left aligned and/or top aligned.
