Subject: Task Tracking with Curio and iPad
Posted: Tue May 22, 2012 4:30 pm (GMT 0)

I'm finding myself using OmniFocus now as I need a method to track tasks to completion that come out of my meetings. My process is I create my notes in my meetings using Curio (or Evernote and then transfer to Curio), add tasks in Curio that come from the meetings, and then check them off as completed in Curio once I've created ongoing tasks in OmniFocus (so I don't have to track in two places).

I am not convinced this is the best process, but I do it this way because I need to add notes to my tasks to track the history of the item, I need to have a central repository for my tasks, and I need access to my tasks from my iPad. (I walk around with my iPad and get in conversation where I need to jot down notes and tasks on the fly. I also like taking the iPad to meetings to take notes using Evernote. I then transfer the notes to Curio. I like having the tasks in the meeting notes in Curio as it adds context.)

It would be nice if Curio had an interface (much like it has with Evernote) that allows Curio to create tasks in OmniFocus. It would also be nice if Curio could sync with OmniFocus to track task completion so dates and task completion are consistent. It would be really, really nice if Curio had an iPad client so the additional software was completely unnecessary.

These are just some thoughts I'm having, and I realize the process isn't perfect, but the bottom line is I need some way to do the above and this is what I've landed on. Not perfect, but it works. Is anyone else trying to do something similar, and if so, what are you doing?

Your thoughts and experience are appreciated.
Can I add a phone number to a resource instead of/in addition to the email address?

I searched this forum and manual using several different terms, didn't see response.

I'm a Newbie user, so I apologize if this is already here or in the manual.

ahhh, got it - thanks for the quick help!

Maybe it would be better to change it, so shift-arrow would always be and stay "fine" regardless of the "snap grid" checkmark. Arrow keys without shift would be "coarse" or "grid" depending what you want...

Just a thought...
Arrow keys go fine and Shift-arrow is coarse.

However, if you have a grid enabled then arrow keys go with the grid and Shift-arrow goes one pixel at a time.

Sounds like, in your case, you have a vertical grid snap enabled (see your Background inspector). So arrow keys move objects along the grid and Shift-arrow will move them one pixel.
Hi,

I just realized, that if I want to move objects with the arrow keys, I can choose to hold shift for fine vs. none for coarse moving. Unfortunately it's not the same for vertical and horizontal! Shift for horizontal means "fine" but for vertical it's the opposite!! Did I miss something, or is this a "bug"? Is it possible to make it the same for both directions?

Thanks,
Chris
I speak about the native QuickLook in Mac OX, when you select the xxxx.curio directory in Finder and hit space key. Ok ! that's solve this issue.

This idea space was not so large (one little video, few sketches and lists). The problem appears during the displacement of figures.

Interesting thing to note, QuickLook was able to show the corrupted idea space
However, if something is corrupted with that idea space you may have to remove it. The easiest way to do that is to create a blank idea space before and after the corrupted one. Then select the first, hold Shift, and select the last (with the corrupted one in the middle). Then hit the Delete key to remove them.

The crash log indicates the error is due to the scribble region which is controlled by the pens and brushes in Curio. Was there anything unusual about that particular idea space? Was it super-large or anything like that?
Subject: idea space freeze curio 7.3.1
Posted: Thu May 17, 2012 8:08 pm (GMT 0)

	Hi,

I worked in an idea space and something wrong happen, curio freeze...

So I restart Curio and chose the same idea space and curio freeze again... It's seems that this idea space is corrupt but I can't delete it because curio is freezing whenever I select the corrupted idea space !

Do you have any solution ?

Thanks,
You can drag the RTF into your idea space as an embedded item but you can't convert the RTF into an idea space with Curio 7.
There isn't really a way to save a dossier as an idea space. You can use the actions menu on the top-right corner to export it as an RTF but you can't change it to an idea space template.
OK. Thanks for the response.

Actually, I find that I have to:
1- click (anywhere) on the list to select it;
2- click on the list item (NOT the adornment) that I want to move
3- click (again) on the list item -and-drag to its new location.

Thanks.
Make sure you're dragging the list item figure itself and not its adornments on the left side of it. So, first click once to select ("activate") the list collection figure then click on a figure item within the list and hold the mouse while dragging that item.
Hi all.

I"m currently on a trial license for Curio (standard). I've imported some text from a NoteBook page as a list. It did import the items properly, because it displays the proper style ("List") in the Inspector and because I was able to change the prefix style.

However, I am absolutely unable to rearrange the list items via drag-and-drop (as documented in the user manual).

I also created a test list from scratch, typed-in a few items, etc. There also, I am unable to rearrange the list as advertised…

Curio version 7.4.3 (v7431)
Mac OS X version 10.6.8

What am I doing wrong???

Thanks!
Thank much for the quick response and speeding up my workflow.
For global tags set in Curio > Preferences > Tags you can assign keyboard shortcuts to those. That should help a bit.
