Snow Leopard and Curio

Friday, August 28, 2009

There are a couple of minor issues with Curio 5.4.4 and Snow Leopard. Specifically, text figures don't appear in HTML and image exports, and there are some quirks in the color picker so use Format > Show Colors as a workaround.

As soon as we pick up the release of Snow Leopard this morning we'll verify our fixes and get a 5.4.5 release out to the world.

Also, we've briefly postponed Curio 6's release to verify its compatibility with the release of Snow Leopard. You can expect it to appear the next few days!

Update: Curio 5.4.5 has been released so do a Curio > Check for Updates to grab it.

  • Hope you guys can release 6 soon! Waiting to upgrade from 4, but the semester has already started...I'm anxious to make use of all the new awesomeness.

  • Been trying to download for a few days, but I keep getting an error message that the site is not responding. "d3gvd7s8v3rk54.cloudfront.net" or something like that.

Any other way to get the update? (Pro version)

  • I'm in the same boat as Justin though I have version 5. I'm using Curio for all my notes this semester and would like to get to work with the new version ASAP.

    Have a good one,

  • We've had a couple of other folks who have had this same problem. For them, downloading it with a different browser mysteriously fixed the problem.

Cloudfront is Amazon.com's distributed file service which Zengobi belongs to (d3gvd7s8v3rk54 is the ID for us I guess). So, given that it's running Amazon's website it's generally pretty fast and reliable. We've been using that service for all our downloads about a year now.

Can you try the download with Firefox or Safari? Please let me know what happens.

  • "And all customers who purchased a new or upgrade license to Curio 5 on or after July 1st, 2009 will receive a complimentary upgrade to Curio 6 when it is released."

    :)
